There are eight areas in the community that the club focuses on. This
means there is always something members can find to be passionate about
or to try. If any of these interest you, please consider
joining Bloomington-Normal Junior Woman's
Club.
Arts: This committee explores the
creative, performing and visual facets of art with our members and
the community. Projects this year include volunteering at the David
Davis Mansion's Christmas event, the Spring Bloom Arts Festival
hosted by the McLean County Art Museum and many more.
Conservation: This committee alerts
the community and membership to the need to conserve, and it informs
members of local environment-related events such as hikes, lectures
and river or town clean-ups. Projects this year include an
Adopt-A-Highway and Miller Park Zoo events, as well as much more.
Education: This committee works with
the school system and community to provide better educational
opportunities. Projects this year include
the collection of school supplies, working at the McLean County
Conservation Day for 3rd graders and volunteering at the Bloomington
Public Library (and more).
Health: This committee seeks to provide
information and programs to members and the community concerning the
latest health issues. Programs include working with the American
Cancer Society, Peace Meal and other local organizations.
Home Life/Public Affairs: This committee
provides information and programs for members and the community to
better their quality of life. It also addresses issues that affect
our daily living. We inform our members and the community of issues
such as crime prevention, safety and citizenship opportunities.
International Affairs: This committee
enhances our awareness of international customs and problems. We
have worked in the past with Care, Operation Smile and UNICEF.
Veteran's Affairs: This committee provides
financial, emotional and physical support to military families in
our community. We have worked with various local veteran's groups in
the past.
